  • I can round whole numbers through the millions to the nearest ten, hundred,

thousand, ten thousand, or hundred thousand.

  • I can decide when a rounded solution is needed
  • I can solve multi-digit addition and subtraction problems and use standard addition

and subtraction algorithms of multi-digit numbers to solve word problems.

Number Sense

  • I can compare and put whole numbers in order.
  • I understand and correctly use standard algorithms for multiplying a

      multi-digit number by a two-digit number.

  • I understand and correctly use standard algorithms for dividing a

     multi-digit number by a one-digit number.

  • I can use relationships between algorithms to simplify computations

           and to check results.

  • I know numbers can be shown and factored in different ways. The number 12 is also

           4 x 3, or 2 x 6, or 2 x 2 x 3.

Mathematical Reasoning

I can analyze problems by identifying relationships. I can distinguish useful from unimportant

information. I can put in order and prioritize information. I can recognize patterns.

Number Sense

  • I show that I know the concepts of negative numbers.

(Examples: I can count backwards. I know when I owe someone money.)

  • I can find where whole numbers, positive mixed numbers and positive

decimals to two decimal places are on a number line. On a number line, I can

show how far from a given number a positive mixed number is. On a number line

I can show how far a positive decimal is from a given number.

  • I can round two-place decimals (hundredths) to one decimal (tenths) to the nearest

      whole number.

  • I can judge whether my rounded answer is close.

Algebra & Functions

Measurement & Geometry

  • I can measure the area of rectangular shapes by using the appropriate units,

such as square centimeter (m2), square kilometer (k2), square inch (in2),

square yard (yd2), or square mile (mi2).

  • Using an equation such as y=3x, I can create ordered pars and draw them on a

      graph to express linear relationships.

  • I understand that the length of a horizontal line segment equals the difference

     of the x- coordinates.

  • I understand that the length of a vertical line segment equals the difference of

     the y- coordinates.

  • I know the definitions of a right angle, acute angle, and an obtuse angle.
  • I understand that 90°, 180°, 270° and 360° are associated respectively with

    , ,  and full turns.

  • I know the definition of different triangles.
  • I know the definition of different quadrilaterals.
